Work History

Diabetes Mellitus Project

University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
Chapel Hill, NC
- 04.2026
  • Worked on final project focusing on pregnant women with diabetes mellitus.
  • Used SAS to clean, analyze, and interpret data from NHANES 2009-2010 dataset.
  • Focused on connecting reproductive health history, diabetes diagnoses, demographic variables, and laboratory measures for a large sample of individuals in the United States.

The AYA Collective: Rooted Endeavor

Virginia Commonwealth University
Richmond, VA
09.2024 - 07.2025
  • Investigated the expectations of Black co-parents, who are theoretically in the "pre-socialization" stage of parenting and have undergone different developmental phases, about the future lessons they hope to teach their kids about race. In order to better understand how different parents approach racial socialization, the study examined parenting approaches and expectations. Specifically, it looked at how these parents hope to start conversations about race and culture with their growing children.

Knot Theory and Topology Research

Virginia Commonwealth University
Richmond, VA
09.2024 - 12.2024
  • Studied R-loop topology in R and its application to mathematical biology, with an emphasis on the role these structures play in controlling topological stress in DNA and RNA. R-loops have become important participants in the regulation of gene expression and genome stability. They are made up of an RNA-DNA hybrid and a displaced single-stranded DNA. My research examined the complex topological characteristics of these loops, examining how they develop, how they resolve, and whether they have any bearing on biological functions.

Summer Institute in Survey Research Techniques Diversity Program

University of Michigan
07.2024 - 07.2024
  • Focused on the foundational science underlying survey research, with an emphasis on the theoretical and conceptual aspects. This fellowship explored the core principles and theoretical frameworks that inform effective survey design and data analysis, as well as engaged with key theories, methodologies, and ethical considerations, to gain a comprehensive understanding of how these elements intersect to shape the quality and impact of survey research.

Publication: [Modeling the "F" in "SAFE": the dynamic game of facial cleanliness in trachoma prevention]

Virginia Commonwealth University
Richmond, VA
- 06.2023
  • Developed a dynamic game theory model to examine the relationship between face cleanliness and the spread of trachoma, providing information on the efficacy of WHO's S.A.F.E. strategy and public health initiatives.

Predictive Spectral Clustering on Multi-Omics COMBAT Data

University of Colorado Denver
Denver, CO
06.2023 - 08.2023
  • Performed multi-omic spectral clustering on metabolomics and proteomics data using R to assess cluster quality, comparing to known treatment and control groups. Also split data into training and testing sets to evaluate predictive quality of available data. This project included aspects of graph theory, eigen analysis, unsupervised clustering, and predictive analytics.

Mathnasium Assistant Center Director

Durham, NC
08.2025 - Current
  • Teach independence for K-12 in a 4-1 setting to improve their grades or getting them ready for the next grade.
  • Responsible for intake assessments and grading

Starbucks Supervisor

Richmond, Va
10.2022 - 12.2024
  • Managed team scheduling, training, and performance to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Developed task prioritization and staff management skills applicable to managing collaborative work.

Math Tutor

Richmond, Va
08.2021 - 12.2024
  • Provided one-on-one tutoring to undergraduate students, enhancing their understanding of mathematical concepts.
