EXPERIENCES

President of Persian Club at Westview High School

  • I manage and organize the culture club at my high school. I aim to spread diversity and educate and enlighten the minds of young students who have not been exposed to the rich and bold cultures around them.
  • My job is to create a friendly and organized space in which students can come to learn about their own roots, or for them to learn about another cultures history.
  • The club was initially created as a way for Persian students like myself to make Persian friends at Westview, and feel safe and proud in our culture.

Vice President of Architecture Club at Westview High School

  • I am involved in organizing activities and volunteer programs for students interested in architecture at my school.
  • This club is a free and educational club that allows students to venture into different

majors and jobs. It is all about unleashing one's inner creativity while making new friends and learning new engineering techniques.

USC Bio-Tech Program at Westview High School

  • Last summer I was a team member in a program revolving around coding and bio-technology at my high school. We interacted with under-graduates at USC while creating an app/interface that uses physics and coding to track Olympic athletes movements.
  • Some of my tasks are organizing groups, developing designs and making things more people friendly.

Link-Crew Leader at Westview High School

  • I am currently a part of the link-crew program at my school that is based on creating a smooth transition for middle school students when they enter high school. My job is to come up with new ideas and activities for incoming freshmen to make new friends and feel comfortable in a potentially stressful environment. I am a leader that is in charge of a group of freshmen during their first few months in high school.

Junior-Varsity Volleyball Player at Westview High School

  • Since my freshman year I have been committed to playing Volleyball on my high school team. I have participated in the Indoor as well as Beach programs at school.
  • I am a strong team player and have won awards such as "Most Inspirational Player," due to my positive and outgoing personality.

HOBBIES

Some of my favorite hobbies are crafting, playing volleyball, and playing instruments.

When it comes to art I am a very multi-faceted person, I love taking on new things and using different materials and colors. I have taught myself to sew, crochet, knit, make jewelry, paint, draw, and more. My artistic side takes form in everything I do whether at home, at school, or at the workplace. It is a big part of my identity and is something I am very proud of. As much as I love spending time inside crafting, being active and outside is something important to me. I have great passion for volleyball and enjoy every minute being outside and working my body. I have played sports my entire life and have always seen it as a way to make new friends and gain new skills and experiences. Lastly, I truly enjoy playing music whether it is on the piano, guitar, or flute. I have learned to play many instruments and have a deep connection with music and its history. Growing up music was always a safe space for me, and so I would very much say that it is one of my favorite things to do.
