Summary

Driven and community-oriented, I leveraged organizational skills, and inventory tracking at The Orange County Food Bank, where we prepared large quantities of food packages for the homeless. I boosted in money management and hospitality as a Salesperson for The Girl Scouts of The USA and as a Volunteer at The Brookdale Senior Center.

Overview

Work History

Volunteer

Brookdale Senior Living Center

Me and some fellow Girl Scouts made our own garden accessible to the elderly. Our group helped design the garden where residents can pick and eat their own fresh fruits and veggies. The project involved everything from planting, maintaining, and designing the garden to engaging with the Seniors. This service was a perfect blend of physical work, making a difference to the lives of the elderly, and hospitality.

Salesperson

The Girl Scouts of The USA

Selling cookies as a Girl Scout took some hustle, responsibility, people skills, and good money management. Selling cookies involved Organization and managing stock and cash at the same time. If stock ran out of a particular flavor we were prepared to offer alternatives. Keeping everything organized especially with multiple orders was a big part of the experience.

Community Service Volunteer

Orange County Food Bank

Working at this food bank was Physically demanding. We would lift heavy boxes and packages. The specific service I volunteered for was making care-packages for the homeless or for people in shelters. Within the process of making those care-packages it took everything physically to lifting heavy things, standing all day, working efficiently to get things out and done, and getting used to breaking down piles of boxes.
