Aggieland Growing Through Selfless Service | January 2022-January 2023

The mission of AGSS is to serve the local area in Bryan and College Station by seeking to improve the community by taking advantage of the resources available at Texas A&M. The goal is to best utilize the expertise, passions, and abilities of Aggies while also supplying an avenue for students to gain experience in areas that they are passionate about.

As a general member I serve under the Women's and Children committee where our service projects are geared to improve the quality of life for the women and children in our community

Group members are asked to meet 12 service hours as well as 6 social hours every semester in order to remain in the organization
Weekly service opportunities through out the Bryan/College station area. An example of an AGSS Women

and Children's service project is volunteering at the Elizabeth House Maternity House in College Station that provides shelter for pregnant women and single mothers and their children

• Lakepointe Church, Mission Trips, To earn money for mission trips I would volunteer my time at the church cafe. Duties included assisting customers with drink and food orders and ringing up their purchases at the register. Through this volunteer work I raised enough money to go on 3 mission trips. Each time we would assist with home improvements and youth ministry in underserved communities.
• Lakepointe Church, Youth Ministry, All four years of high school I served as a small group leader for middle school girls. As a group leader I was responsible for preparing the talking points for the weekly lesson and leading group discussions. In addition, I served as a camp counselor and group leader at Summer Camp. Through this experience I was able to learn how to lead others and work as a team. My volunteer experience helped me to realize I have a true love for serving others.
