I am a current Medical Assistant at McKay-Dee Hospital.
My daily tasks as an MA are to measure patient's vital signs, administer medications, collect blood samples by venipunctures, fingers pricks, butterfly collection, capillary and labeling the tubes correctly and sending them to lab for testing. My tasks are also to prepare examination rooms, assists physicians with exams if needed but will not go over my scope of practice, schedule appointments and follow up with patients.
I also document any calls that have been made regarding test results or any sort of message that providers write so us MA's can relay to patient.
I manage my time by making sure how I want my day to go and how I will be able to complete my daily tasks.
I provide customer service everyday by helping our clients address any of their questions/concerns they have about their health and relaying that to our provider if needed and outside of my scope.
