  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to veterans in a high-volume Urology, Urogynecology, and Gynecology surgical specialty clinic.
  • Perform and assist with a wide range of non-OR procedures, including cystoscopies, Botox injections, UDS, dorsal slits, vasectomies, prostate biopsies, manage Foley and suprapubic catheters, pessary fittings, LEEP procedures, colposcopies, IUD placements, and EMBs.
  • Administering Bacillus Calmette-Guerin and Gemcitabine to veterans as part of their treatment plan for bladder cancer, consulting with cancer care coordinator and other providers to schedule treatments appropriately, and per AUA guidelines.
  • Assist in the Women's Gyn/Surg clinic with procedures such as pelvic exams, vaginal swabs, bladder scans, cystoscopies, Bulkamid, LEEP procedures, and Estring placements.
  • Charge duties include, effectively delegate patient care tasks to RNs, LPNs, and HTs, ensuring duties align with scope of practice, training, and experience, Ensuring the clinic has all supplies and medications from pharmacy foe each day
  • Demonstrate a commitment to non-judgmental care, respecting all patients and assisting them and their families with appropriate services.
  • Provide sensitive and informed care to transgender veterans, demonstrating awareness of their unique urological and gynecological needs.
  • Facilitate safe hospital admissions and transfers for urology patients experiencing acute issues.
