As a Progressive Care Unit CNA, I provide care to 10 patients.

I assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.

I am also responsible for taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and recording intake and output.

I answer call lights promptly and respond to patient needs accordingly.

I turn and reposition bedridden patients every 2 hours to prevent bedsores.

I serve meals to patients in their rooms and assist with feeding when needed.

I maintain accurate records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems for review by medical staff.

I collect specimens for testing purposes upon request from nurses.

I assist with ambulation of patients, utilizing appropriate equipment, safely.

I provide end-of-life care.

I respond quickly to emergency situations involving codes or sudden patient falls.

I participate in educational programs related to nursing assistant skills development.

I assist nurses with wound care for pressure ulcers, bed sores, and surgical site wounds.

I communicate with patients to determine feelings, need for assistance, or social and emotional support.

I safeguard patient privacy with strict adherence to HIPAA protocols.
