Jun Lee

Using my tennis skills and knowledge that I was privileged to learn, I decided to help out my community by playing tennis with a couple of the Down syndrome kids that were being studied by scientists at the university. Although it was a challenge to cooperate with the kids, It helped me build a new perspective in life, that everyone isn't the same. This will help me in the working environment by allowing me to communicate better with my co-workers.

• Because of my bilingual abilities in Korean, I was specifically picked to spend time with kids my age who recently moved from Korea to the United States. As they almost had 0 English speaking/writing skills, I would play with them, and talk to them in a mixture of Korean/English after my regular classes to help them adapt to the new environment sooner.

• Supported engaging, fun, and smooth-running events by helping with organization and planning. Represented organization positively and professionally while providing the community with much-needed service.
