Military Experience

  • Basic Combat Training (BCT), 01/2018 - 04/2018, Went through the process of becoming a soldier and was taught marching, shooting and survival skills in preparation for life at my assigned unit.
  • Advanced Individual Training (AIT), 04/2018 - 08/2018, Trained to maintain radio and data distribution systems, perform signal support functions and technical assistance for computer systems, provide technical assistance and training for local area networks, do maintenance for equipment, terminal devices, assigned vehicles and power generators. Obtained secret clearance during this time.
  • Signal Support System Specialist, 08/2018 - 11/2023, Performed all duties taught in Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training as well as performed checks and maintenance on critical communications equipment and military vehicles.
  • State Active Duty for COVID-19, 03/2020 - 05/2020, Provided support to the 53rd Infantry Brigade during the initial outbreak of COVID-19 by directing traffic at testing sites, keeping records, ensuring testing vials were kept in the correct temperature conditions, and providing any other assistance needed for their medical operation.
  • Mission to the National Capital Region, 11/2020 - 08/2021, Maintained radio communications between Army and Air Force personnel tasked out to protect the National Capital Region air space from internal or external threats. Position held: team chief.

Awards

In July of 2021 I was awarded the Army Achievement Medal for outstanding service while assigned as an ENM operator, team chief and contact team support to the National Capital Region during Operation Noble Eagle.
