- Writes comprehensive reports identifying the facts and findings in investigations and reviews all reports for clarity, accuracy and completeness prior to submittal to the Internal Investigations Unit Supervisor.

- Keeps a chronological log of cases assigned to be investigated for periodic review by Unit Supervisor; maintains that log and other information is kept according to Agency policies and procedures.
- Serves as liaison with other Department of Corrections Investigators, State's Attorneys, Federal, in-state, out-of-state and local law enforcement agencies; testifies in administrative and criminal court proceedings; aids in preparing witnesses for testimony.
- Interview's Officers and Lieutenants eligible for promotions to the Internal Affairs Unit and Assisted training new Investigators in Investigations Unit.
- Conducts Computer Voice Stress Analysis Examinations using CVSA III technology, Defense Barrier removal, Kinesics, and Advanced Interviewing Technique's.
