During preceptorship at UCDavis Medical center in the cardiology department, the two skills I was recognized for were: time-management and adaptability. When preparing for my shift, I would set up a care plan to ensure that my patients received the individual care needed (medication, patient and family teaching on cardiac disease and prevention/ interventions, management of symptoms). However, when there was an adjustment necessary, I was able to adapt my care plan to the needs or desires of the patient(s). One instance was when a patient was having difficulty remaining calm and consistently voiced the need to be left alone to avoid possible conflict, so I adjusted my care-plan. I be fulfilled my duty to maintain a safe environment and condition for myself and me patient while allowing for rapport to develop. I recently worked as an IHSS care-provider; this position has allowed me to master skills necessary to perform at-home peritoneal dialysis. I took vitals prior to and post session, properly set up and breakdown equipment needed for each session, maintain a clean environment, patient and family teaching, and communication with other healthcare team members. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ New Associate-degree graduate looking for a part-time job to gain experience, while working towards fulfilling my Bachelors-degree.
