Kale Irlmeier

• Works with coordinator to hire, train, and supervise all sports employees averaging roughly 12 employees year round.
• Assists in planning and scheduling various youth and adult sports and fitness programs such as soccer, basketball, softball, and tennis. This includes camps, classes and leagues.
• Leads youth and adult sports programs within given budget.
• Assist's coordinator in recruiting, overseeing and scheduling officials and volunteers to conduct sports leagues and programs.
• Conduct training, clinics, and orientations, as needed, to ensure officials, and volunteers are knowledgeable and understand the objectives of the Sports Division.
• Open and close facilities.
• Assists with the development and implementation of programs by conducting research, planning and scheduling activities, updating and preparing course materials, and maintaining displays.
• Monitors program participants, and enforces rules, regulations and safety precautions at multiple indoor and outdoor recreation facilities

• monitors program activities, and assists participants in recreation activities and special programs
• reports and resolves complaints, requests, safety conditions, security issues and illegal activities.
• Perform unskilled clerical work and other duties relating to conducting programs.
• Picks up trash and debris, and assists in the basic maintenance of grounds and equipment; maintains sports fields (e.g., lining, dragging and marking) to prepare for play and special events; cleans bleachers, restrooms, and periphery.
• Sets up and maintains recreation facilities for special events and scheduled programs. Basic maintenance includes but not limited to: sweeping floors, checking and restocking restrooms, cleaning and arranging equipment, emptying trash.
• Makes needed equipment available and monitors its use.
• Observe and/or participate in activities.
• Assist with city wide special events and activities through the department.
• Recommends new policies and procedures to the Recreation Coordinator.
• Creates and maintains folders on all volunteers and coaches.
• Addresses customer complaints and concerns in a timely, professional manner. Inspects the physical environment (indoor and outdoor) of facilities to ensure they are safe and healthy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position to support all sports division activities. Works under the supervision of the Sports Supervisor and/or Sports Coordinator. Receives instruction from Sports Coordinator and /or Sports Supervisor regarding specific tasks to be completed. Position hours vary and may include early morning, evening and /or weekend shifts. Specific duties can include but are not limited to lining ball fields, basic field maintenance (ie. emptying field trash cans, watering ball fields, dragging fields); youth sports programs, summer camps, sporting event set-up, tear-down, and general event support. Will work heavily on weekends and evenings to support youth sport league games and events.
