TECHNICAL PROJECTS

Senior Project: Robotic Cart September 2020 – May 2021

  • Project Goal: design a robotic cart that follows a customer without the use of line of sight (LoS) sensors
  • Utilized X-Bee radio frequency modules for communication between the remote on the user and the robotic cart
  • Designed a parabolic reflector array to capture the signals from the X-Bee on the remote
  • BeagleBone Blue was used as the brain of the robotic cart and we chose to use C language for the code

Individual Raspberry Pi Analysis 2020

  • Goal: to understand the functions of Raspberry Pi and incorporate into Fall 2020 senior capstone project focusing on machine learning and artificial intelligence
  • Developing functional Python and C code for programming on the Raspberry Pi board
  • Learned to interface with PuTTY to enable the UART ports on the Raspberry Pi
  • Ran laboratory tasks to learn how to code LEDs, keyboards, timers, and sensors (i.e., speaker system)

ECE 467 – Mobile Robotics Laboratory: Mobile Robotics Group Project Spring 2020

  • Utilized three important processes in the field of mobile robotics using the Pioneer P3-DX robot. The project formulated C++ and MATLAB codes to maneuver the robot to predetermined waypoints, avoid obstacles with the Braitenberg obstacle avoidance strategy, and use vision sensors to visualize the robot moving in a virtual plane
  • Optimized and compressed CoppeliaSim video to be faster for virtual demonstration of the robot implementing the Braitenberg obstacle avoidance and waypoint navigation strategy
  • Presented virtually via Zoom

ECE 301 – Discrete Time Signals and Systems: Biomedical Signal Processing using QRS Detection Fall 2019

  • The project detected QRS complexes in real-time electrocardiogram (ECG) using Pan-Tompkins algorithms
  • Utilized QRS detection method for a multitude of filters to detect the slope, width, and amplitude
  • Achieved goal of no false positive detections in QRS complexes

Project Lead the Way (PLTW) LED Skateboard Project 2017

  • Created a LED circuit design on a skateboard using resistors, LED’s, and a battery pack so that a skateboarder could be seen by motorists and pedestrians
