Hard working student who is reliable and has strengths in time management and is dedicated to serving future students in the community that gave so much to me. Has experience working with children for two years and worked with young adults who were navigating big changes in their lives. Facilitated tough conversations and responded to mental health situations involving self harm and suicide ideation. I have had many jobs that have provided skills critical for social work degrees such as responsibility, time management, critical thinking, and patience. Through years of job experience and gaining these skills, I have completed every task assigned to me in all roles I have held. Recently, my activities specialist position allowed me to work with many kids who have a multitude of different developmental conditions such as Autism, ADHD, OCD, ODD and sensory disorders. These children also had a multitude of different home lives and backgrounds, with some unfortunately struggling with abuse or dealing with parents who may be struggling with substance abuse. This experience with children sparked passion in me to work with children who have some of the same mental health concerns. Some children have a hard time expressing themselves due to these situations and I want to be able to work with these kids to improve their mental health and also make sure they are able to come to school and have someone in their corner.
