During my senior year of high school, I was able to participate in an internship at a local elementary school. During this time, I was able to travel to the school about 4 times a week to help the students. Most of my work involved taking kids in small groups or individually to help them focus on their work in a more personalized setting. Since then, I have been able to do three semesters of practicums in various schools around Fort Collins, including Shepardson STEM Elementary and Kruse Elementary. Being able to experience Pre-K all the way through second grade has given me firsthand experience in multiple developmental stages and has been very beneficial. Making new connections in each classroom has been amazing, and I am very appreciative of all the teachers I have met. I hope to keep expanding my circle in the education world.
