  • Daily work expectations, Prepare Cath Labs for Patient Procedures, Stocking, Product preparation, Equipment preparation, Patient Preparation.
  • Assist Anesthesiologist with Patient induction, including intubation, monitoring and prep of patient.
  • Assist Interventional Cardiologist with sterile scrub of procedure and possible intervention as needed.
  • Monitor patients vitals and Hemodynamics during cath procedure, communicate with physicians and staff involved in the procedure.
  • Act as circulating technologist retrieving product and running equipment as needed during study. Including C-Arm Xray equipment, lab equipment, patient monitoring equipment. Occasional surgical equipment for varying cases.
  • Responsible for lead apron inventory.
  • Responsible for Radiation badge monitors for staff.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining patient databases for research and nationwide databases.
  • Responsible for charging procedures accurately with appropriate CPT codes if monitoring patient procedure.
  • Sharing responsiblities with staff for reviewing pending procedure charges and making corrections before forwarding for billing.

  • Applying official coding conventions and rules from American Medical Association and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to assign diagnostic codes.
  • Resourcefully use various coding books, procedure manuals, and on-line encoders.
  • Interact with physicians and other healthcare staff to ask questions regarding patient services.
  • Review patient charts within EPIC to better understand health histories, diagnoses, and treatments.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical record systems to store, retrieve and process patient data.
  • Input data into computer programs and filing systems.
