Serial Volunteer

FIRST - Exemplary STEM robotics program, volunteer for 22 years. As a key person for tournaments and teams, my skills in organization, team development, leadership, the ability to Interface with multiple groups and interests (tournament organizers, key personnel, students, coaches, different groups of volunteers) while staying focused on the event and our primary goal of student learning and STEM have contributed to the success of these programs. (Yes, I can effectively herd cats.)
My many roles over the years include team mentoring, coach mentoring and nearly all roles for tournaments, both locally and at World Championships/Festival for all 3 levels of FIRST programs- FRC, FTC and FLL. I have served as an FLL Coach and mentor, an Event Director for tournaments and scrimmages, FLL, FTC & FRC Head Ref, Referee, Judge, FTC & FRC Judge Advisor. https://www.firstinspires.org


ACS-WASC (Accrediting Commission for Schools-Western Area Schools and Colleges), Visiting Committee Chairperson, Visiting Committee Member Leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills essential to a successful school accreditation self-study verification visit. Visiting Committees prepare an in-depth report, review evidence, interview Stakeholders and observe school activities. Their findings and recommendations are cumulatively presented to the school and the accreditation committee at WASC along with the school's report. The Tech Interactive - The Tech Challenge, Member of TTC Design Committee and Lead Judge

Our dedicated committee works together designing an engaging, engineering-based Challenge for students each year. We are focused on making this STEM activity easily accessible to all students, as well as challenging their minds and imagination. It is an amazing experience to see young people become engaged and captivated by science and technology.
