I taught in a general education Prek classroom. Students were mostly from low-income families. I taught using the Frog Street Curriculum with Heggerty strategies, Conscious Discipline techniques used for behavior modification, and worked with data teams to improve overall instruction.
I taught a CBT class and developed IEP's with staff, service providers, and families to provide the students with a learning program that would best meet their individual needs. I used the Unique Learning System for our curriculum and to meet state standards and benchmarks.

Taught first graders at an inner city school. I taught reading ,math , social studies, science, and language arts. Proud that one of my first graders went on to be valedictorian of his high school!
National Board Teacher Certification in Early Childhood in 2002 and re-certified in 2012 and 2022. Mentored and trained student teachers and beginning PreK teachers and paraprofessionals.
