  • For the last months I have shadowed CD by doing the following
  • Assist CD with strategy and planning to ensure center operations, donor flow, and donor retention goals are achieved.
  • Assist CD to maintain all supply, equipment, and product inventories.
  • Assist CD monitor and evaluate all center operations and develop and implement action plans to improve efficiencies, as needed.
  • Bringing attention to the CD when Maintain center maintenance needs attention and learned to submit a facility ticket.
  • Complete other duties assigned from time to time by the Center Director or Management.
  • Assist with leading and managing the Donor Center personnel.
  • Support Center Director on all personnel functions including recruitment, training, development, assignments
  • Develop employee talent, through regular meetings, goal check-ins, and development plans.
  • Ensure all employees are accurately trained in technical areas.
  • Conduct daily, team meetings to ensure and goals are met.

  • Lead and direct overall Donor Center quality compliance by ensuring the center is audit ready at all times and is compliant with industry regulations, government regulations, and with standard operating procedures.
  • Work with the Center Director/QAS to maintain product quality, integrity, and safety; donor suitability and safety; and employee safety.
  • Ensure that product meets all regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Maintain an independent level of quality inspection and control.
  • Oversee release of product and shipment of product to vendor and ensure that shipment meets all regulatory and customer guidelines.
  • Oversee product and biohazard waste shipments by doing the following: ensure shipments meet regulatory specifications and product release requirements, ensure accurate labeling and documentation, and authorize final shipment.

  • In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), responsible for collecting plasma samples and moving plasma units to freezer to ensure product quality.
  • Ensures plasma units are properly stored according to SOPs, which could include unsuitable plasma units and samples.
  • Ensures accuracy of unit labeling by verifying the pre-printed label matches the dynamic label.
  • Utilizes sterile technique to draw samples and uses heat sealer to assure the sterility and quality of plasma unit samples per SOPs.
  • Ensure samples and units are packed and shipped in accordance with SOPs and center procedures. Prepares shipping and unit disposal documentation.
  • Monitors freezer and refrigerator temperatures and immediately informs appropriate personnel if equipment is not functioning properly. Records variances.

• Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting a series of registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process

• In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assists qualified donors in completing the screening process

• The screening procedures includes but are not limited to: assessing the self-administered health history, answering basic medical questions associated with the donation process, referring donors to medical staff when appropriate and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature

• Performs finger stick to obtain sample to obtain donor's hematocrit and total protein levels

• Ensures that all donor questions are answered timely, accurately and professionally

• Maintains alertness and awareness to any reaction by a donor may have during or after the pheresis process and takes action

• Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the SOPs

• Maintains clean efficient work environment and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed

• Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures
