Shadowing
In the spring of 2020, I participated in my high school’s internship program, where I had the opportunity to shadow EMTs at LifeStar Emergency Services. Although my time was limited due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I gained valuable exposure to emergency medical services, observing patient care, emergency response protocols, and the fast-paced nature of healthcare. This experience not only deepened my interest in the medical field but also provided me with a strong foundation in quick decision-making, patient assessment, and teamwork—skills that will be invaluable as I transition into a nurse extern role.
