Primarily function in role as part of Rapid Response Team. Respond to medical emergencies, including Blue Alerts and Stroke Alerts. I am responsible for assessing and evaluating patients with acute medical needs. Effective communication with the multidisciplanary team is essential to develop the best plan for the patient.

I perform in the role of preop, post op, PACU nurse. Care for patients through the continuum of surgery. Job duties include preoperative assessment, postoperative care for local, modified anesthesia care, and general anesthesia patients, and education throughout all phases. Responsible for effective communication with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

Completing accurate medication reconciliation on all inpatients to ensure correct identification and ordering of patients' home medications and allergies.

Also completed admission database as able to promote continuity of care and discharge planning.

Performed in the role of Travel RN on Neuro/Surgical ICU in a 15 bed unit. Cared for patients at the height of COVID pandemic. Provided direct care to critically ill patients requiring advanced skills. Precepted both travel and regular staff. Floated to other units as required.

I performed in the role of bedside RN in the Surgical ICU (SICU) from 1992 to 2011 and from 2019 to 2021. This included providing direct patient care to critically ill patients, educating and supporting patients and families, and collaborating with ancillary departments to support the best outcomes for our patients while supporting the OSF Mission. I also performed the role of preceptor, charge nurse, and Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) superuser.

I performed in the role of Assistant Patient Care Manager/Supervisor of SICU from January 2011 to August 2021. This role included overseeing and directing patient care activities, as well as unit personnel. My job duties included, but were not limited to, scheduling/attendance, performance improvement (individual and unit), and positive discipline.
