Mobilized hundreds of National Tax Day Actions 2012 in coordination with community partners, SEIU locals.
Organized actions around Tampa RNCC Convention 2012, including protests at the RGA Dinner, two marches, and an action at Bane Capitol headquarters.
Directed an integrated campaign to successfully affiliate the State Employees Association of North Carolina, an independent organization of 55,000 members. This was/is the largest union victory in the South with 80% support.
Affiliation involved complicated, two-step process to change union prohibition language within SEANC's constitution with a 2/3 vote and then approval of the affiliation agreement.
Navigated complicated challenges involving gender and racial dynamics on the heels of earlier unsuccessful efforts.
Supported SEIU negotiations of Governor's meet and confer for state employees, representing SEIU interests at key meeting.
Successfully activated North Carolina members up to support Affordable Care Act work.
HEROs Campaign:
Coordinated the recruitment and assignment of over 2,000 members into xx states including training, logistics, resource management of a $40 million campaign.
Worked with American Coming Together to define the work and address management issues.
Walmart Watch:
Organized xxxxxx house parties to watch film and embedded with partner organization to represent voice of labor and plan successful actions.
Led and supported Chairs of the State Sector Council of Public Division.
Worked with Executive Office to develop multi-state tax campaign including work with national pollster to develop state polls and strategize with state councils and locals to drive state-specific campaigns.
Led campaign in New Hampshire to win agency fee for state workers in bargaining, and put pressure on elected officials to win at bargaining table.
Advised and implemented political support to support campaign that took on Beverly Enterprises, one of the largest nursing home chain in the country.
Travelled and engaged with state legislators to pressure Governor's involvement.
Drafted "Saving Our Seniors Act" and pulled together lobby day to educate elected officials about what our fight was and why we were doing it.
Led Election Day turnout operation.
