Our mission to develop and maintain a registry that would collect data on military Trauma for research to help in better, faster and more complete field care to save limb and life. I am very proud to be a part of this research. Originally started in MOTR (Military Orthopedic Trauma Registry). We were transferred to COVID registry when the pandemic started to help with capturing data for research.
Maintained outpatient coding for 6 staff and 5 residents to include all surgeries, inpatient consults and office visits, EGD, Colonoscopies etc. My providers for General Surgery covered a wide variety of procedures. Our hospital is 1 of 2 trauma centers in San Antonio, TX. We are also a research and training hospital with some of the best surgeons in the country. our Colorectal dept has completed some very complicated colorectal procedures from injury or diagnoses. We also performed procedures for ALS patient to help with breathing. Our Gastric surgical dept is one of the best. We not only do weight loss related gastric procedures but also repairs on complications from gastric procedures as well as esophageal repair's from injury or diagnoses.
Trained all incoming residents on documentation and coding with an emphasis on asking for help.
