Applied and commenced through two stages of interviewing to be selected as a scholarship candidate. Completed three semesters of graduate level courses and a three-week practicum with Gifted and Talented GCS students. Learned crucial aspects of gifted education including local and national legislation. Created a case study investigating and reflecting on a student in my 6th grade classroom in the fall. Designed a concept-based curricular unit encompassing successful, engaging, rigorous instructional models beneficial to gifted populations. Received and sought out pertinent feedback and guidance on instructional models to implement. Reflected on my implementation of the curricular unit during my practicum with peer coaching, professor’s observation feedback and accolades, as well as with the critical reflection model.
