University Overview

  • Relevant Coursework: WPRI/WNAC TV internship program provided me a unique opportunity to work at WPRI 12, FOX Providence, The CW Providence, and myRITV’s various departments including 12 News, The Rhode Show and WPRI Media. This hands-on learning experience allowed me to get an in-depth look into the field of broadcast from an array of perspectives and challenged me to use my knowledge while gaining new sets of skills in an applied industry setting.
  • As a NEWS INTERN – I not only get an inside look at how news is gathered and produces newscasts, I helped make it all happen! I learned firsthand how a news story gets on television. As a Newsroom Intern, I worked one on one with the news staff — including photographers, video editors, video journalists, reporters, producers, and assignment editors. I got to see what happens behind the scenes when there’s breaking news! As an intern I upheld the expectations to keep a working knowledge of current events and be eager to get involved in the newsgathering process. During this internship I was able to earn a great base of skills for an entry-level television newsroom position.
