Research

Las Cabachuelas: A Cooperative Path to Resilience in Morovis, Puerto Rico (Current): 

This project examines how community organizations collaborate in the aftermath of disasters,  leveraging both informal and formal networks to foster resilience. It investigates how resource sharing,  building trustworthy collaborations, and joint planning enable communities to respond, adapt, and recover. Through semi-structured interviews with local community members, this study will focus on mapping these resource networks and understanding the conditions that foster effective cooperation to inform more connected, community-led recovery efforts.

Leading Inclusive Transformation in Geoscience via an Intercultural Network of Learning Ecosystems ( 2024):

Focusing on broadening representation and create meaningful change in the Geoscience community while conducting community-based, societal relevant geoscience research in learning ecosystems with community organizations. Candidates will contribute to changing the culture of the geoscience community to make it more just, equitable, and inclusive

Emerging Researchers National Conference (2024):

The Emerging Researchers Conference in STEM is hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), Inclusive STEM Ecosystems for Equity & Diversity (ISEED) Programs, and the National Science Foundation Division of Equity for Excellence in STEM (EES). Aimed at college and university undergraduate and graduate students who participate in programs funded by NSF EES unit, including underrepresented minorities and person with disabilities. 

North Carolina GlaxoSmithKline Summer Research Immersion Program (2023):

10-week program that enables undergraduate students’ participation in high-impact research activities to build peer to peer community of early career scholars and foster social professional networks. Worked in Environmental Health lab researching insecticide resistance on mosquito's and developing abstract to present.
