Philosophy of Educational Advocacy: Schools today are fighting to eliminate educational inequity. I am a natural born self-driven leader who is looking to join that fight. I'm looking forward to having the opportunity to do something that is bigger than myself. For years I have joined the efforts that educators provide to make a difference, changing the lives of the next generation through education. I am excited to broaden my expertise into digging deeper by using all of the knowledge I've acquired in the classroom and using it to defend policies on each school's behalf. I have a natural hunger for knowledge and strive for excellence in anything I put effort into. As an African American woman and mother, I became even more motivated to shine a light on the possible impact I could make on scholars' lives which will one day affect my child also. I value positive energy and optimism so I have shifted my efforts towards helping school leaders take action, & spark change. Through years of volunteer work, I've learned the necessity of patience and hustle it takes to truly move a community. I am passionate about working with policy makers and represent the education system because I was once in those classrooms and one day my child will be too. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say that I have a true desire to push for a more unified harmony among policy makers, schools, teachers, parents, and most importantly the children.
