Keira Folsom

Collaborated with fellow resident artists of various ages and backgrounds to curate an exhibition raising awareness about the endangerment of the Montevallo swamp due to urban development. Contributed to creative brainstorming sessions, generating and refining innovative concepts for the project.

Facilitated a VAAP screen printing workshop for high school students, providing hands-on instruction in the screen printing process. Demonstrated techniques for printing on fabric and guided students in creating their own screen-printed pieces to take home.

Participated in 10 art markets around Alabama, showcasing and selling original artwork to diverse audiences. Developed skills in customer engagement, sales, and marketing. Gained experience in inventory management, pricing strategies, and creating an inviting booth presentation. Strengthened adaptability and problem-solving abilities by responding to on-site challenges and feedback from customers.

Had a photo selected by the head of the photography department to be entered and displayed at the Photographic Nights of Selma Festival. Gained experience in presenting work outside of the University.

Has participated and created art for multiple exhibitions held at the University of Montevallo, some student led.
