Before leaving the company, I was in a position that I was hand-picked for by MEI management as a new position start up.
When I first came to this position, I was one of two people to be selected for the first people to come and train with Honda ICG (Inventory Control Group) as MEI was taking over Honda's line side counting.
In this new start up I worked closely with Honda associates to learn their process and communicated with my own management on ways to improve the process and make it more efficient.
I am now counting inventory for Honda line side using Honda and MEI systems to input my counts and to investigate negative or positive variances and looking to see if we are short parts so that we can get them ordered to eliminate downtime to the production line.
I also check to see if there are too many parts line side and pull the extra off in order to eliminate the clutter to ensure a safe work environment and to keep cost down on part orders.
I have daily communication via email and in person both inside and outside of the company to ensure that inventory gets corrected both accurately and efficiently.

Cycle counting the 'warehouses' to ensure inventory accuracy, inputting the counts into an excel spread sheet and investigating any variances.
Communicating with Honda ICG to correct variances between inventory buckets using GPCS and GCCS systems.
Salary: $19.30 (plus shift differential) (hourly)
