● Controlling entry points and exits

● Confirming passenger identities and matching it with their tickets manually or using CAT machines

● Screening airport employees and vendors, making sure those with a proper SIDA Badges receive the correct level of screening based on their level of access (varies by different screening locations) along with anyone they may escort.

● Interacting with passengers by giving proper advisements and answering questions

● Assessing all incoming passengers and foreseeing what type of screening the passenger will be receiving (i.e. someone in a wheelchair or an internal or external medical device, passengers traveling with children, passengers traveling with pets, pre-check passengers in a standard lane, elderly, airport employees, vendors)

● Using various screening equipment to help identify dangerous and prohibited objects on a person and/or in their accessible property

● Performing visual and physical screening of personal belongings such as bags, carts, strollers, wheel chairs, medical devices and apparatuses, electronics, food, liquids, articles of clothing

● Practicing fair use of judgement and utilizing critical thinking skills to make effective decisions to any crisis and routine situations

● Analyze and evaluate information that was gathered by experience, observation, and assessing surroundings for potential risk.

● Engage in threat mitigation practices to protect the traveling public, aviation, and airport stakeholders.

● Engaging in my network of officers, leads, supervisors and explosive specialists (TSSE's) in order to mitigate possible threats by gathering input.

● Gathering facts towards grievances to take an active step towards resolutions that are constructive to all parties involved.

● Providing guidance to fellow Officers, stakeholders, and passengers in regards to rules, regulations, and procedures.

● Assisting and training newly hired officers (TSO's).

● Acting Team Lead in coordination with other Lead Transportation Security Officers to ensure proper procedures,rotations, and breaks in a timely manner.

● Assisting with clearing and resolving alarms on passengers and properties.

● Ability to safeguard Sensitive Security Information (SSI) and Personal Identifiable Information (PII).

● Evaluating potential obstacles, threats, risks, and applying mitigating actions and communication.

● Coordinating with Transportation Security Administration's K9 Explosives Detection Unit for the purpose of collecting efficacy rates.

● Assisting TSO’s, LTSO's and STSO's in a range of support tasks to achieve the goals of the Transportation Security Administration.
