Each one of these areas required pre-start criteria from numerous departments. I tracked each one of these criteria to completion and prepared them for review and approval by the Readiness Assessment Board. Each one was successful in declaring readiness from the Government.

Project Specialist

Amentum (TOCDF)
Stockton, UT
01.2005 - 12.2013
  • Managed planned and developed several projects for Secondary Waste, Main Plant, Area Ten Liquid Incinerator (ATLIC), and Closure Campaigns. Coordinated between Government organizations and internal departments for implementation in terms of scope of work, execution of assignments, and completion of the work to be performed.
  • Researched and carried out projects requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures. Ensured quality control of documentation for tracking waste streams, test plans, work orders, and reports.
  • In August 2009, the Secondary Waste Campaign began and successfully disposed of more than 2.5 million lbs. of waste. To dispose of the waste, the team constructed a new facility that included Drum Ventilation Systems (DVS), a Drum Ventilation Sorting System Room (DVSSR), and an Autoclave. The DVS determined the contamination of the waste; personnel used the DVSSR to open and sort the waste; and the Autoclave treated the contaminated waste. Over twenty unique waste streams were identified which could be contaminated with a combination of up to five different chemical agents. With each new waste stream, function tests were performed to determine proper disposal methods.
  • Due to the success of the project, its scope was increased to include waste generated by the Deseret Chemical Depot (DCD) and waste generated during closure of the Chemical Agent Munitions Disposal System (CAMDS). The original project included 10,732 drums but the final number of disposed drums was 19,469. Despite the increased scope, the project finished ahead of schedule by a year and saved the government an estimated $24 million. I received a Commander Coin for the success of this project and was elected as a 2013 Pyramid Award Nominee.
