- Main point of contact between public and the department
- Operate the department radio, computer system, DCJS E-Justice portal, card access system, along with security cameras and the various fire alarm computers.
- Check parking lots to verify parking permits and ticket or tow all unauthorized vehicles.
- Make sure all doors on campus are secure after normal building hours.
- Answer a multi-line phone system
-Prioritized calls and dispatched appropriate police units
- Operates computers, communications, and support equipment, consistent with New York State E-Justice rules and regulations.
-Prepares written reports and maintains the police department blotter as assigned.
-Operates radio, telephone, and broadcast equipment
-Is first point of direct contact with the public
- Read and effectively interpreted small-scale maps and information from computer screen to determine locations and provide directions.
- Handled emergency phone calls calmly and obtained pertinent information with composed approach.
- Perform and assist in milking operations on a 100 cow dairy farm
- Ensure cattle have access to food and water
