Legislative and Policy Initiatives
- Provide subject matter expertise to legislative proposals as needed.

Statewide Guided Pathways Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and technical assistance for the statewide implementation and continuous improvement of Guided Pathways initiatives across Iowa community colleges.
- Co-led the implementation of the Ascendium Guided Pathways Grant by coordinating and facilitating webinars, delivering technical assistance, and supporting institutional adoption of best practices.
- Designed and facilitated a series of professional development webinars tailored to the evolving needs of community colleges, expanding statewide engagement and knowledge sharing.
- Planned and executed multiple annual statewide Guided Pathways convenings to foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among institutions.
- Established and coordinate the Guided Pathways Steering Committee to develop statewide initiatives, align priorities, and sustain momentum in pathways implementation.
MOA Civil Rights Compliance Leadership
- Serve as the statewide subject matter expert on the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), ensuring community college compliance with federal civil rights requirements.
- Maintain expertise through annual OCR training, ongoing professional development, and continuous monitoring of federal and state regulatory updates.
- Lead MOA Civil Rights review visits aligned with accreditation processes, including institutional orientation, desk review analysis, on-site evaluations, compliance reporting, development of Voluntary Compliance Plans (VCPs), monitoring corrective actions, and providing technical assistance.
- Completed Title IX Coordinator Training (August 2023).
- Developed new student and employee survey instruments and enhanced review protocols, interview questions, and documentation processes to improve efficiency and alignment with compliance requirements.
- Conduct on-site visits for ADA compliance for CTE facilities.
Statewide Reverse Credit Transfer Initiative
- Convene and facilitate the statewide Reverse Credit Transfer Steering Committee to review outcomes, identify process improvements, and strengthen program effectiveness.
- Led a cross-sector workgroup to develop a Regent University Reverse Credit Transfer Advising Form to improve student understanding and cross-institutional communication.
Accreditation Support
- Contribute to statewide accreditation teams by reviewing special needs and student services documentation during desk reviews, serving on the campus visit team, and authoring corresponding report sections.
- Identified and integrated student services criteria into accreditation review processes, including desk review materials, interview protocols, and site visit evaluations.
Technical Assistance and Statewide Collaboration
- Serve as liaison to statewide Chief Student Services Officers and Student Services Directors groups, facilitating communication and collaboration between institutions and the Department.
- Provide departmental updates and guidance to professional organizations and statewide work-alike groups.
- Deliver presentations and professional development on student services topics for organizations including IOSS, ICCSSA, IowaAAN, IMATYC, IHEMTAC, IPTC, and others as requested.
Transfer Major Steering Committee Leadership
- Led the Music Discipline Framework Team to support transfer major alignment and student success.
- Designed and continue to facilitate advising and implementation training focused on transfer majors, addressing emerging challenges and promoting effective practices in implementation and advising.
Mathematics Pathways and Transition Leadership
- Serve as the Bureau liaison to statewide mathematics initiatives and stakeholder groups.
- Participate in the Iowa Higher Education Math Transition Advisory Council (IHEMTAC) Action Group and contribute to statewide efforts to improve mathematics pathways and transitions.
- Provide annual updates to the Iowa Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (IMATYC).
IHE GEER Grant Administration
- Led the development and administration of IHE GEER grant initiatives, including establishing funding criteria, authoring grant applications, reviewing proposals, issuing award notifications, and monitoring compliance.
- Managed reimbursement reviews and prepared required federal expenditure reports to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance.
