Legislative and Policy Initiatives

• Provide subject matter expertise to legislative proposals as needed.

Statewide Guided Pathways Leadership

• Provide strategic leadership and technical assistance for the statewide implementation and continuous improvement of Guided Pathways initiatives across Iowa community colleges.
• Co-led the implementation of the Ascendium Guided Pathways Grant by coordinating and facilitating webinars, delivering technical assistance, and supporting institutional adoption of best practices.
• Designed and facilitated a series of professional development webinars tailored to the evolving needs of community colleges, expanding statewide engagement and knowledge sharing.
• Planned and executed multiple annual statewide Guided Pathways convenings to foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement among institutions.
• Established and coordinate the Guided Pathways Steering Committee to develop statewide initiatives, align priorities, and sustain momentum in pathways implementation.

MOA Civil Rights Compliance Leadership

• Serve as the statewide subject matter expert on the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), ensuring community college compliance with federal civil rights requirements.
• Maintain expertise through annual OCR training, ongoing professional development, and continuous monitoring of federal and state regulatory updates.
• Lead MOA Civil Rights review visits aligned with accreditation processes, including institutional orientation, desk review analysis, on-site evaluations, compliance reporting, development of Voluntary Compliance Plans (VCPs), monitoring corrective actions, and providing technical assistance.
• Completed Title IX Coordinator Training (August 2023).
• Developed new student and employee survey instruments and enhanced review protocols, interview questions, and documentation processes to improve efficiency and alignment with compliance requirements.
• Conduct on-site visits for ADA compliance for CTE facilities.

Statewide Reverse Credit Transfer Initiative

• Convene and facilitate the statewide Reverse Credit Transfer Steering Committee to review outcomes, identify process improvements, and strengthen program effectiveness.
• Led a cross-sector workgroup to develop a Regent University Reverse Credit Transfer Advising Form to improve student understanding and cross-institutional communication.

Accreditation Support

• Contribute to statewide accreditation teams by reviewing special needs and student services documentation during desk reviews, serving on the campus visit team, and authoring corresponding report sections.
• Identified and integrated student services criteria into accreditation review processes, including desk review materials, interview protocols, and site visit evaluations.

Technical Assistance and Statewide Collaboration

• Serve as liaison to statewide Chief Student Services Officers and Student Services Directors groups, facilitating communication and collaboration between institutions and the Department.
• Provide departmental updates and guidance to professional organizations and statewide work-alike groups.
• Deliver presentations and professional development on student services topics for organizations including IOSS, ICCSSA, IowaAAN, IMATYC, IHEMTAC, IPTC, and others as requested.

Transfer Major Steering Committee Leadership

• Led the Music Discipline Framework Team to support transfer major alignment and student success.
• Designed and continue to facilitate advising and implementation training focused on transfer majors, addressing emerging challenges and promoting effective practices in implementation and advising.

Mathematics Pathways and Transition Leadership

• Serve as the Bureau liaison to statewide mathematics initiatives and stakeholder groups.
• Participate in the Iowa Higher Education Math Transition Advisory Council (IHEMTAC) Action Group and contribute to statewide efforts to improve mathematics pathways and transitions.
• Provide annual updates to the Iowa Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (IMATYC).

IHE GEER Grant Administration

• Led the development and administration of IHE GEER grant initiatives, including establishing funding criteria, authoring grant applications, reviewing proposals, issuing award notifications, and monitoring compliance.
• Managed reimbursement reviews and prepared required federal expenditure reports to ensure accountability and regulatory compliance.

• Directed ISU transfer pathways:
• Provided leadership and direction in developing, implementing, and enhancing articulation efforts between Iowa State's academic programs and Iowa community colleges, by creating opportunities for collaboration, linkages, and connections with an eye toward strengthening and/or creating articulation. This includes coordinating the Community College Chief Academic Officers' Summit, and serving as co-chair for the Community College Relations Council (CCRC).
• Represented Iowa State University on the Iowa Board of Regents Liaison Advisory Committee on Transfer Students (LACTS) and assist with coordination of the annual articulation conference every three years. Provide Iowa State articulation updates to Iowa Board of Regents for inclusion in the annual H.F. 815 report to the Iowa Legislature.
• Influenced and collaborated with internal and external constituencies for the betterment of transfer such as the President, Associate Provost of Academic Programs, Deans, Faculty, Senior Vice President of Student Affairs, the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Success, the Registrar and other Enrollment Directors; as well as external constituencies which include, but are not limited to, the Iowa Department of Education, Iowa Regent representatives, the Iowa Board of Regents, and representatives from community colleges both in and out-of-state.
• Coordinated and led a transfer working team to create and implement new processes for course articulation review and workflow to centralize articulation data and improve the transfer student experience.
• Lead transfer student success initiatives:
• Advise and mentor student groups, faculty, departments, and administration on transfer concerns that impact academic performance. Partner with advising, student affairs, and other support partners in areas of student retention and progression. Track retention and completion efforts of all transfer students. Provide research and data-driven insights to campus community in support of transfer student success. Use various technologies to facilitate transfer student success such as TES, Transferology, and the University's degree audit system.
• Represent Iowa State University on the Statewide Reverse Transfer Coordinating Committee and collaborate with members to promote participation and improve student outcomes.
• Created and led a campus-wide committee to recognize National Transfer Student Week at Iowa State University.

• Supervised professional transfer recruitment staff responsible for functions that include recruitment travel, campus visits, transfer program planning, and communication with prospective students and families.
• Developed data-driven recruitment strategies for and provide leadership to the transfer recruitment team. Collaborate with admissions leaders on the implementation of territory management and training for new software programs.
• Collaborated with marketing and communications to create and update transfer specific electronic and print materials. Review and enhance transfer recruitment through mail, email, and social media campaigns.

• Coordinated all activities at the Grand View University (GV) Johnston Campus at Camp Dodge, which included cultivating and maintaining relationships with the Iowa National Guard; planning and coordinating functions with the main campus; developing and implementing the GV Camp Dodge program rotation; and scheduling, recruiting, advising, and enrolling students in the areas of Accounting, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, and other areas within social sciences.
• Re-established Johnston Campus as an official test center for both CLEP and DSST examinations, and served as the Primary Test Site Administrator. Activities included maintaining security protocols, communicating test updates to the Registrar for updated articulation, scheduling and administering examinations, and providing test center reports to Grand View University, College Board, and Prometric.
• Developed and implemented Johnston Campus marketing plan for recruitment and retention of students in collaboration with the dean. Activities included development of new adult learner magazine; increased presence at education fairs, and more personalized recruiting contacts.
• Assisted with recruiting and advising of adult learners and transfer students for the main campus that resulted in an advising load of over 130 students. Advising responsibilities include meeting with advisees to create a plan of study, completing graduation petitions with program evaluation reviews and assistance with submission of curriculum exceptions.
• Provided orientation to new Johnston Campus faculty.
• Increased military and overall enrollment at the Johnston Campus, and maintained enrollment during one of the largest deployments in the history of the Iowa National Guard.
• Co-authored a strategic statement for the Johnston Campus.
• Identified and implemented new programs at the Johnston Campus, including Criminal Justice and Human Resource Management.
• Facilitated the move of the Johnston Campus to a new location.
• Resolved Johnston Campus technology issues.

• Taught INTS 101, a New Student Seminar to incoming freshmen students as a part of the first-year learning community.
• Advised INTS 101 students throughout their first year at Grand View.

• Managed comprehensive student services operations, including registration, billing, course scheduling, commencement coordination, and oversight of off-campus instructional sites.
• Served as the institution's VA Certifying Official and Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 international students, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
• Supervised student services staff and provided guidance on ADA accommodations through review of documentation, regulatory requirements, and institutional practices.
• Developed and administered student satisfaction surveys to inform strategic planning and drive improvements in facilities and student services.
• Collaborated on strategic marketing initiatives and student recruitment events, including multi-campus open house programming.
