- As an assistant swim coach, I was responsible for leading instructional practices for my swimmers and leading by example for my fellow employees.
- These practices ranged from various tasks fit and tailored to each swimmer, depending on their experience and commitment to the sport.
- For example, I represented my team, DeKalb Aquatics, while working for the Ludacris Foundation. Inspired by the rapper who was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, like I was, I taught underprivileged kids how to swim, starting with the basics.
- But I was also a coach on a real swim team, where we competed against other club teams during the summer. Here, I taught the more advanced skills and techniques I learned to become a better swimmer.
