Continued to develop knowledge within the EPIC system, becoming a certified trainer, scheduling appointments, admitting patients, checking insurance authorizations, and staying up to date on all emergency VA authorizations. Assisted the supervisor in filling the department needs and remaining available to answer all employee questions all while promoting a healthy and fun work environment.
Developed knowledge in the EPIC system regarding registering patients, scheduling appointments, admitting patients, checking insurance authorizations, and, eventually, learning the role of the cashier when taking deposits. Accepted a promotion into the Lead position which led to assisting with creating the main staffing schedule and developing other spreadsheets for the department. Other requirements included being a mentor to the staff and assisting them with questions or concerns, problem-solve within the department, assist with interviews, training the newly hired employees, and being creative with new ideas to maintain company moral.
Maintained a group home that housed 8 individuals with special needs. Eventually accepting a promotional role as the household medication administrator and driver. Assisting the individuals in daily tasks and providing them with routines to maintain a safe environment while encouraging supervised freedom, was top priority. Other important roles were assisting in daily hygiene procedures, creating balanced meals based on health restrictions, and de-escalating active verbal or physical "behaviors" as quickly and effectively as possible.
Supervise and educate a classroom of 12 children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. Responsibilities (aside from the care of the children) included providing essential learning opportunities for all ages, developing weekly lesson plans that coincided with the BCS Pre-K curriculum, making sure the facility was up to DHHR codes and regulations, communicate effectively with parents regarding the care plans of their child, document/report daily progress or achievements to parents, produce creative and unique ways to improve learning abilities, and plan/conduct a yearly presentation of the children's progress during a facility wide banquet.
