I also served as a CPM on the Sprint Network Vision project, and gained experience in managing construction of cell site equipment upgrades.   • Project manager for deployment of Symmetricom’s synchronization timing equipment, primarily into the Verizon Wireline network. My responsibilities included bid generation, subcontractor management, scheduling, and change management. I created an Excel based project financial workbook, which captured all relevant budget data (forecast and actual) for each project, including change order tracking. This workbook became a standard tool in reporting project financial performance, and helped ensure adherence to project closing criteria. Due to my analytical and problem solving skills, I was the “go to” guy within the Symmetricom services group, for investigation and resolution of accounts receivables issues. This led to numerous “lessons learned” and associated process improvements. In December of 2009, Symmetricom decided to outsource its project management function to Pro-Tel. My performance at Symmetricom lead to their management requiring Pro-Tel to hire me as part of the outsourcing agreement.
