Dynamic Youth Development Professional with a proven track record at the Boys and Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle, excelling in fostering social skills and cognitive development. Adept at implementing behavior modification techniques and promoting a safe, inclusive environment, I effectively engage youth through creative programming and strong relationship-building skills.
At the Boys and Girls Club of the Eastern Panhandle, I began as a volunteer to obtain CSL hours for my BSW before transitioning into a staff role during the school year and summer program. I currently serve as Lead Teacher for the kindergarten and first-grade group, a role I have held for three consecutive summers. I design and lead daily programming that incorporates art, physical activity, positive action, reading, math comprehension, and social–emotional learning. I am responsible for medical and behavioral reports, as well as weekly OJPs, ensuring accurate documentation and communication with families and staff.
As a Resource Teacher at Young Hearts Daycare, I work part-time supporting classrooms when Lead Teachers need additional assistance. I am currently assigned to a two-year-old classroom, working 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. My responsibilities include assisting with diaper changes, serving meals, preparing cots for nap time, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting the Lead Teacher with daily classroom needs. I also help promote the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children through age-appropriate activities and positive interactions.
My role at Kidematics is to promote positive behavior, support youth in navigating social situations and friendships, and provide a listening ear to children who need one. I ensure that all students are safe and accounted for at all times. I am primarily stationed in the cafeteria, where I serve snacks and engage with students through board games, coloring, LEGO building, and meaningful conversations about their day and personal interests.
As a Support Staff Member at River Riders Family Adventure Resort, I inflated and deflated inner tubes and prepared canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards for customer rentals. I assisted guests in selecting appropriate inner tubes and personal flotation devices (PFDs), ensuring proper fit and safety. At the end of each day, I accurately stacked and organized tubes in designated trailers, washed PFDs, and collected all air compressor cords to maintain a clean and efficient work area. This role strengthened my customer service, time management, and teamwork skills.
