I started doing insurance billing and credentialing in 2016 when I retired from fulltime ministry as a pastor. I worked for a Psychiatry practice in Houston, TX, USA and learned from my supervisor and from practical experience how to deal with insurance companies with regard to credentialing healthcare providers with individual insurance plans. I expanded that self employed work in 2019 when I contracted with a Psychiatric group practice to handle insurance credentialing and contracting for their Physicians and Nurses. At that time this group practice employed over 20 physicians and 35 nurses. I continued with this group practice until 2023, at which time I decided to work totally online and contracted with two smaller Psychiatric group practices as well as the original Psychiatric practice I started with in 2016. I currently have ongoing contracts to do online insurance credentialing and contracting with these 3 groups. The amount of time each group requires from me varies from month to month due to turnover in their staff and growth of their businesses. All of my work is done online.
