Station 43:
Station 43 under my command had a census of 130 EMT's, Paramedics and Officers. It was the second largest station in the 5 boroughs. Each tour the station ran 13-15 ambulances and during the summer months 2 extra "gators" that worked the Coney Island boardwalk. I was responsible for the written responses to all UOR's, civilian complaints, quarterly and yearly reports. Daily inspection of all members on duty and ensuring they had a safe and secure workplace. Working closely with the community and the staff of the attached hospital we ensured a timely response to medical emergencies. Ensuring department issued narcotics were closely monitored and kept safely secured at all times. I ensured that all members conducted themselves in accordance with the FDNY's Code of Conduct policy.
FDOC: The FDNY's operation center is a fast paced dynamic located within department headquarters. The operations center oversee's resource maximization and efficiency for the entire city. Ensuring ambulance availability, relocation of ambulances to other boroughs that are deficient due to high call volume or other extenuating circumstances such as weather. Coordinate hospital diversions, child abuse reports, adult abuse reports, ambulance response times and coordination of chief officers daily assignments. I currently oversee 9 lieutenants and 15 EMT's and ensure that they conduct themselves in accordance with the FDNY's Code of Conduct.
