Accomplishments

  • Part of a nationally recognized, early 1:1 laptop initiative delivering take-home devices to all high school students (~6,000), implemented using enterprise PC management practices and played a key part of Group Policy creation for the laptops.
  • Per an initiative directed by the Vice President for Administrative Services at Virginia Tech, myself and the Director of IT for the Transportation department were tasked to evaluate and execute the consolidation of multiple stand‑alone IT groups into a centralized IT organization. The initiative was successfully completed, resulting in what is now one of the largest and most robust IT departments on the Virginia Tech campus.
  • Adopting “The future of work” for College of Business F/S by leading a college‑wide IT modernization strategy transitioning Pamplin College of Business to a laptop‑first, cloud‑identity (Entra ID) operating model. The transformation enabled flexible work, reduced operational friction through passwordless authentication, and accelerated device deployment while maintaining institutional security standards. Technology used: Microsoft Surface Laptop Hardware, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune.
