I moved to Springfield in the summer of '05 from Northern California to stay with a family member. I maintained employment working at restaurants on Main Street. In 2007 the economy went south and I moved back home to the west coast. I worked at a grocery store from 2007 until 2012 when I made the decision to come back to Jacksonville and try again. I was introduced to Sustainable Springfield and became the first full time employee of the non profit organization. I was the primary care taker of all the urban gardens in the neighborhood at that time. I have always loved working outdoors, farming and gardening. After parting ways with Sustainable Springfield I ran my own market garden selling prduce door to door in the Historic District. I am currently a caretaker for Geiger Family Farm, an original Century Pioneer Family Homestead on the Northside of Jacksonville.
