KEVIN MENTEER

For the last 32 years I have worked on Hollywood productions as a member of the International Cinematographer's Guild Local 600. I began my career as a film loader in 1993 and have since worked as a freelance Director of Photography, camera operator, focus puller and camera technician, accruing tens of thousands of hours on union and nonunion productions of all types. The current culture in Hollywood and my personal situation have steered my professional life in a different direction lately. I'm interested in finding work - and possibly a career-ouside of Hollywood and in something still in my field of expertise but more local, allowing me to stay close to home and spend more time with the family.

I have had some other work experience over the last decade in addition to my job as a camera tech. In 2012 my wife and I opened up a business to cater towards her occupation as a veterinarian. We started "Dr. Y's Animal Hospital" as a single doctor practice in Westlake Village, Ca. As vice president, my role was all things business and administration. From bookkeeping to customer service and management, as well as assisting in certain medical procedures, it was a "do whatever's necessary" situation to build the practice into a thriving business. We grew the business rapidly, and after tripling the size of the staff and acquiring thousand of clients, we sold the clinic in 2017.
