I retired from a mid-sized New Jersey Law Enforcement agency as Chief, after twenty-five years. I was the most highly decorated officer on the force when I retired. I joined the force in 1976 and became the youngest Sgt. on the force ever; at age 29, Lieutenant at 31 and the youngest Deputy Chief in the State of NJ at 33; bypassing the rank of Captain. All of this was done through civil service testing. I commanded the operations division as well as the investigations division, where I headed narcotics, internal affairs, vice and white collar crime investigations. I am a certified police instructor in New Jersey and have taught for the New Jersey State Police at Rutgers University, Emergency Management courses.
I am certified by the college of forensic examiners in Homeland Security, by Northwestern University in Police Staff and Command, by West Point Military Academy in Police Leadership and by several dozen other agencies in various police disciplines.
I am a published author and feel that I can communicate excellently in writing as well as an accomplished public speaker. I know the entire Microsoft suite of office applications and am well versed in many other applications as well.
Recently I applied for and received a patent application approval for an internet predator interactive detection and tracking system. I formed a development corporation with leaders in the areas of law, education, public health, law enforcement and technology to further develop and launch this venture. In addition my company Safety-Net Interactive, Inc. is proposing the development of a college level training and internship program to help 21st century law enforcement officers and candidates to learn how to combat child exploitation and human trafficking. My experience in the fields of police work and emergency management have exposed me to every situation imaginable, every conceivable natural disaster, major hurricanes, flooding, major fires and explosions, hazardous materials incidents and blizzards. In addition in my police work I’ve experienced and commanded every type of major investigation, as well as riots, work force strike teams, hostage situations and stand-offs as well as fatal fires, accidents, suicides and homicides.
My career, I believe is distinguished in that in all of my combined field work and experience as a supervisor and commander I have never had a serious injury in any event under my command and control. The safety of those under my command during my career has always been a standard of excellence that I have never compromised on.
In 2010 I received the President’s (United States) award for a lifetime of community service.
