years of professional experience

I am a resilient and individual who was born and raised in South Philadelphia. I take great pride in my Philadelphia roots and am grateful for the opportunities and education I have received from two outstanding schools in the city. For the past 17 years, I have proudly participated in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade alongside my father and other members of my family. This tradition has been an important part of my life and has taught me the value of commitment, teamwork, tradition, and community. Most importantly, my family has played a significant role in shaping the person I am today. I am incredibly thankful for the lessons, values, and strong work ethic they have instilled in me, and I will continue to carry those principles with me throughout my life. As I look toward my future, I have developed a strong desire to serve our country and give back to something greater than myself. My commitment to service is a major reason I am applying to two of our nation’s service academies. I understand that attending a service academy requires discipline, perseverance, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to others, and I am eager to challenge myself to grow in each of these areas. I hope to build upon the values I have learned from my family, education, and community and use them to become a leader who serves with purpose and integrity.

Russo's Market | 05.2023 - Current

I began working at Russo's Market in May 2023 right after I graduated the 8th grade. I worked seasonally from late May to late August due to my school schedule. Hired as stocker, I was responsible for taking inventory of store items. I took inventory of all items in the store, retrieved needed items from the stockroom, and refilled any missing items during the work day. I also helped clean the outdoor tables during the day. During my 3rd summer working at Russo's, I was trained for closing. Since I was able to work longer hours due to my age, I was able to help close the store for the day which meant disposing of perishable items, cleaning the store, and stocking up on inventory. This most recent summer, I was finally trained to cook. I would help the two main owners make items such as cheesesteaks, wraps, and burgers. I was trained on the various cooking equipment such as the griddle, char-broiler and deep fryer.

Education

High School Diploma

Saint Joseph's Preparatory School | Philadelphia, PA | 06-2027
  • Honor Roll - I received 2nd Honors for my freshman year.
  • During my Sophomore year, I was allowed the opportunity to take Honors English II
  • I was given the opportunity during my Junior year, due to my grades in previous courses, to take two AP Classes. I chose to take AP - Cyber Security which was a pilot class brand-new to St. Joseph's Prep. This class was a full-year course covering foundational cybersecurity concepts and skills and is equivalent to a college-level, introductory course. I finished this class with a 95 average and received a 3 on the final AP test. I also took AP US Government and Politics. This class is designed to give students a critical perspective on government and politics in the United States. I finished the course with an 89 average and received a 3 on the final AP test.
  • As a requirement for graduation, St. Joseph's Prep requires 80 hours of service. As a Jesuit institution rooted in faith and service, I have taken much pride in being a man "For And With Others." Throughout my time here, I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the service opportunities that I was chosen to take part in. Whether it be welcoming new students at our Open House, tutoring young, elementary school students, helping to clean a local park, or collecting and delivering basic necessities for our older veterans, I have taken much pride in my opportunity to help others.
  • I was a member of the SJP Bowling Team during the fall of my freshman year. I was looking to occupy my time with a sport until rowing was offered to freshman in January of 2024
  • I was a Varsity member of the St. Joe's Prep Rowing Team from January 2024 until May 2026. I rowed from the time freshman were allowed to join until the end of my Junior year. Our team is consistently recognized as one of the best scholastic rowing teams in the world. I had the opportunity to race everyday on the Schuylkill River as well as traveling with the team to compete in other states such as New Jersey, Delaware, and Connecticut. Our team repeatedly placed in the top 3 throughout my time with the team. I have had the privilege of being coached by some of the greatest men known to the sport. Training for these races, off and on the water, were intense, rigorous and time consuming but I am very grateful for the experiences given to me.
  • I ran for Student Council during the end of my Sophomore year but fell short by 2 votes.
  • In my Junior year, I became a member of the SJP Travis Manion Foundation Hawks. This group seeks to inspire and develop leadership and character in all Prep students as a way to honor the fallen. I deeply enjoy being a member of this club because of the desire to serve my country after high school. The Travis Manion Foundation is globally recognized non-profit organization run by Travis' sister, Ryan Manion, in an effort to continue her brother's legacy. Travis Manion was a standout, scholar athlete from LaSalle College High School who would go on to compete and study at the U. S. Naval Academy. Travis was a true "Man for others, " putting the welfare of his friends, family and team before his own. As a Marine, Travis was known for his discipline and courageous leadership. Before his final deployment to Iraq, Travis left us with a simple but powerful mantra, "If Not Me, Than Who...?" In other words, if i do not take on my duty to lead, those I am called to lead will not be in the best position, as someone less prepared than me will be guiding them. I am deeply thankful to Travis, his foundation and continue to be inspired by Travis as I continue my journey after high school.
