Accomplished Software Developer and Performance Engineer with 10+ years of industry/research experience (Intel, Research Foundation, Atypon Systems). I seek a role in delivering performant and reliable software technologies and intelligent systems. I am interested in exploring new areas such as Generative AI.
I worked on identifying optimization opportunities to enhance systems performance through the integration of cutting-edge Intel technologies.
Featured Achievements:
1. Demonstrated the significant performance enhancements achieved by integrating Intel Gluten and Velox into Apache Spark.
2. Showcased the capabilities of Intel Xeon CPUs to efficiently manage generative AI workloads in cloud and virtual machine environments
My research focused on two topics: 1. Energy optimization of hardware accelerated neural networks 2. Energy optimization and performance and energy modeling of Java applications.
Key Contributions:
1. Developed Chappie: A novel energy accounting system in Java that attributes total energy consumption to individual components under consideration. Energy can be attributed to the granularity of methods, classes and packages.
2. Vincent: A profiling and an energy optimization system implemented by augmenting JikesRVM that employs DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling) to hot methods 14.9% less energy than built-in power management in Linux
3. Vesta: A power modeling system for Java applications with a mean absolute percentage error of 1.56%. Vesta uses language and system runtime events to build a robust energy prediction model.
