Projects

Wellness Room - Grady: Created a quiet space for nurses to relax and take a break from their busy workday. It helps them relieve stress and feel refreshed so they can keep providing excellent care to patients.

Employee Engagement Committee - Grady: Created and Implemented a committee to celebrate employee birthdays; employee nominations; and shout out boards and patient information boards. Co-Chaired the redesign of the trauma/surgical/transplant ICU room to a COVID friendly ICU room, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: The patient's bed was positioned with the head closer to the room entrance. Chest tube extensions were provided. A Level 1 was staged outside the room along with the IV pumps. Only 14-inch IV extension tubing was used for medication delivery. Radios were provided for clear communication among the staff. The ventilator was placed near the entrance of the patient's room.

Patient/Family Engagement during COVID-19 - SICU Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Created a family contact list for all of the patients in the surgical ICU: I maintained a daily updated list of family contact information for all patients on the unit. This allowed me to facilitate daily rounds with the residents, ensuring they could call families with patient updates. Additionally, I helped arrange FaceTime calls between patients and their families whenever possible.  Postoperative surgical dressing changes - Orthopedic/Trauma/Medical-Surgical Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: Consulted with orthopedic surgeons to establish preferred protocols for postoperative surgical site care. This included gathering information for creating quick reference cards for nurses, outlining preferred dressing change and cleansing procedures for each surgeon. Additionally, the aim was to develop patient education materials on postoperative surgical site care at home, aligned with each surgeon's recommendations.
