• The Quality and Patient Safety nurse plays a role in reviewing publicly reported quality data by leading the measure submission process by reviewing charts in the EMR, reviewing outliers, compiling reports and serving as the liaison with clinical stakeholder and clinical committees in sharing the outcomes of the data.
• The RN associate also aims to foster a culture of safety by specifically focusing on high reliability processes to reduce serious safety events and improve patient outcomes.

For my second travel assignment I stayed local and re-signed in a different department at Beth Israel Lahey Health Boston, MA 02115.

I re-signed with their Outpatient Radiation Oncology Department as a Travel RN.

I was primarily hired to monitor patients who were scheduled to have CT Mapping sessions done for their upcoming radiation treatment. This included RN assessments, triage, and pre-medicating patients who needed it. I also monitored labs for IV contrast administration, IV contrast safety questionnaires, PORT accessing and de-accessing, education and teachings regarding upcoming radiation treatment, and experiences.

I was hired as an outpatient Travel RN in a PCP department within Beth Israel Lahey Health beginning November 2020. I resigned with them twice and my contract lasted there until August 2021.

Within this department I was responsible for phone and in-person patient triage.

Assessing and communicating findings to PCPs.

• Wound care; including suture and staple removal.
• Dressing wounds and doing patient teaching on wound care.
• Vaccinated patients to protect individuals from measles, pneumonia, influenza and other illnesses of concern.
• Delivered outstanding care to patients with various diagnoses and managed care from treatment initiation through to completion.
• Informed patients and families of effective treatment options and at-home care strategies, enhancing long-term outcomes.

I worked at the SBCHC as a Registered Nurse. Within the health center the different units I floated to were: OBGYN, Adult Health, Pediatric Health, and Family Medicine.

• Provide efficient and proper care to patients within or around the community regardless of insurance status.
• Triage patients and adequately decide best action plan to follow through with to properly care for patients..
• Educate patients on their health care and routinely check up on departmental patients for follow-ups.
• Answer any questions patients may have regarding their care when calling into the health center, or during nursing visits.

Gastroenterology Outpatient Department

• I worked as a triage RN in the outpatient gastroenterology department.
  Responsibilities include:
  Triaging patient symptoms/ concerns and discussing treatment plan with care team. Relaying care plan with patient and ordering proper tests/ medications/ alternative therapies.
• Discussing medication titration/ adherence with patients depending on their illness and making sure there is follow up/ med effectiveness.
• Working with the care team to gather all information relevant to patient's current GI illness and effectively treat them, typically through triage phone calls.
• Organized and managed care of patients undergoing various therapies and procedures.

providing hands-on care to post op orthopedic surgical patients by:

• Assessing post-op pain levels and managing their pain by communicating with team and administering appropriate analgesics.
• Managing intravenous lines, observing and monitoring patients' conditions, maintaining records and communicating with doctors.
• Assessing neurovascular status every 4 or 8 hours.
• Assisting patients on their recovery to discharge through pain management using both pharmaceutical and non pharmaceutical approaches.
• Working closely with PT and OT for ADLs and post-op mobility.
