Kimberly Wirth

• Direct supervisor for approximately 12 staff members. Interviews and hires new staff members. Timecard management in API. Manages schedules around staff call outs and PTO requests. Collaborates with Leadership on bringing new processes to the Allergy and Rheumatology Departments. Manages day to day nursing operations for both departments. Orders supplies and high dollar medications while keeping track of them in medication and supply budgets.

Allergy Department:

• Collaborated with Providers in developing new Survey Tray Flowsheets in EPIC.
• Registered our clinic as a designated clinic for Palforzia therapy in pediatric patients with allergies to peanuts.
• Collaborated with Providers and Leadership in starting the process to bring X-Tract Solutions software to our system for improvement of patient safety.
• Assisted in opening of Allergy Department in our Salado Specialties Clinic.
• Performs allergy skin testing and PFTs/spirometry.
• Monitors oral food and medication challenges.
• Compounds individual patient allergy serums based on Provider's orders.
• Administers allergy immunotherapy and Biologic injections.

Rheumatology Department:

• Collaborated with Providers in developing new Therapy Plans in EPIC.
• Worked with Providers and other departments to bring new medications to our Infusion Room.
• Mixes, starts, and monitors IV infusions.

• Primary care nurse of immediate postoperative patient with emphasis on managing airways, arterial lines, vital signs, pain, nausea, postoperative bleeding and stabilizing patients.
• Monitored patient condition by interpreting and tracking EKG readings, identifying irregular telemetry readings and updating team members on changes in stability or acuity.
• Administered medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses.
• Collaborated with physicians to quickly assess patients and deliver appropriate treatment while managing rapidly changing conditions.
• Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols. Served as Relief Charge Nurse.
• Designated Charge Nurse (2018-September 2021).

Special Treatment Center 5: Emergency Trauma Service, General Surgery, and Neuro Surgery.

• Primary care nurse of postoperative and post ICU patients requiring further monitoring before discharging home.
• Administered medications via oral, IV, and intramuscular injections and monitored responses. Administered and monitored cardiac drips and blood products.
• Placed NG and Dobhoff feeding tubes. Discontinued central line catheters.
• Educated patients, families and caregivers on diagnosis and prognosis, treatment options, disease process, and management and lifestyle options.
• Trained new nurses in proper techniques, care standards, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
• Served as relief Charge Nurse.

Special Treatment Center 5: Emergency Trauma Service, General Surgery, and Neuro Surgery.

• Primary care nurse of postoperative and post ICU patient requiring further monitoring before discharging home.
• Cared for wounds, including negative pressure would therapy and wound manager.
• Cared for tracheostomies with in-line suctioning.
• Managed patient care through closely monitoring respiration, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels.
• Worked with multidisciplinary team to carry out successful treatment plans for diverse acute and chronic conditions.
