• Worked as a staff nurse taking care of critically ill patients with high demands that required flexibility and quick thinking. Dealing with heavy construction within both facilities required me to be adaptable to constantly changing processes and patient flow.

Managed patient flow in the emergency room. Supported hospital initiatives for new stroke and chest pain programs through active participation in the emergency room. Assisted in training staff on TeamSTEPPS to aid in the implementation of the sepsis program. Participated in multiple committees, including EAG and sepsis. Aided the director in maintaining the staff schedule.

• Staff nurse caring for patients in an emergency room setting. Often served as an ICU hold nurse, caring for ventilated and critically ill patients. Worked multiple areas of the ER from triage to fast track.

• Worked as a travel nurse at hospital ranging from a level one-trauma center in Charlotte, NC and a pediatric ER in San Antonio, TX. Have developed fast learning and adaptation skills to be able to work on my own within days of starting at a facility.

• Fulfilled a short-term contract as a PACU nurse. Was trained and able to work independently within one-week recovering adult and pediatric patients in an orthopedic hospital setting.

• Served as a staff emergency nurse in the community setting. Assisted the charge nurse with her duties in directing all incoming EMS patients and relief charge when needed. Worked in various areas of the emergency room such as triage and the pediatric emergency room. Assisted the ICU with staffing as needed.

• Provided emergency nursing to a wide range of patients from pediatric to geriatric. Cared for patients with chronic illness and some acute trauma. Assisted in implementing a new fast track system that aided the hospital in dealing with high numbers of patients by increasing patient flow and decreasing turnaround time.

• Served as a new graduate nurse and Registered Nurse, first on a telemetry floor and later in the Medical ICU. Performed as a sepsis nurse by taking care of patients in the emergency room and implementing sepsis protocols for those patients that transferred to the ICU. Selected to start a pilot program within the hospital that served as both a rapid response nurse and liaison between the ER and ICU. Trained and operated the Nexxus machine for CVVHD patients.
