• During the same employment at VCUHS, I was offered a grant position for one year to provide palliative services to all ICUs, participate in family meetings in which end of life options were presented and move those patients to Thomas Palliative Care Unit. This was early days of palliative care and we worked with national experts in the field to establish the service. Our team also helped write the national symptom management algorithms for treating palliative care patients.
